Sculpture with the Orion
I recently purchased an Orion Plus to do the fine, tiny welding of stainless steel parts on my sculptures. For the last 20 years I had been using a full on industrial TIG machine along with some silver soldering.
The news is, there was life before the Orion, and then there is life after. And as they say elsewhere, there is no going back. Because the Orion is great. For starters, it doesn't heat anneal all the metal as does either of the above methods. And the silver soldered parts I found to be prone to failure due to water absorption. Many of the small parts in the below sculpture were done with the Orion.
Why should just jewelers have all the fun? Share the luv.
Thanks for such a great machine.

Re: Sculpture with the Orion
ALoha Anthony,
Great to hear from you and really enjoy your post and picture. We at Orion Jewelry Welders used stainless steel objects to create different kinds of objects in miniature to larger forms to demonstrate what can be done with the welder as well as learn by doing. You are very creative and can see why the welder would work well for you. Keep up the great work and thank you again for posting with us! We would look forward to seeing more of your work especially if it was assisted by the Orion Welder! Be well, Neil Coshever
